What’s Up Wednesday: 11/07/18

As of October 31s, there have been 143 crashes on the Causeway Bridge this year.

We are very proud of our New Orleans Saints. They are on a 7 game winning streak and last week sent the Los Angeles Rams back to the West Coast with their first loss of the season. Although we all would like to be Saints, you do not want to be in one of the accidents that occur on the Causeway. There is no instant replay to help you understand what happened. There is no slow-motion video with expert commentators who give details how you could have avoided the accident. Here are the most common reasons accidents occur on the Bridge:

  1. Distracted Driving
  2. Driving while Under the Influence
  3. Speeding
  4. Reckless Driving
  5. Tailgating
  6. Vehicle Maintenance (Such as Bald Tires, Bad Brakes, etc.)

Although some crashes are unavoidable, knowing the most common reasons for accidents may help you prevent them from happening. In 2017, there were 184 crashes that occurred on the Causeway Bridge. You do not want to be in that number.
