The driver of a pickup truck that rammed a disabled vehicle on the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway and caused the southbound bridge to close for almost 90 minutes has been cited with careless driving, according to a police report released Monday (Feb. 22). Alvin Kimbrel of Belle Chasse failed to recognize that the vehicle was stalled in the right lane of the bridge, the report says, and his Ford F250 slammed into it at 65 mph.
